Presidential Election

It's that time again. It happens every four years. It's time for the presidential election of the United States of America. I've got some advice. It's a recommendation that you can use whether it's 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, or 2020 or further in the future.

During this election season, you are going to be told, "This is the most important election this country will ever face" countless times. Doesn't matter what political party you are associated with, you will hear that phrase ad nauseum.

I have voted in every major election since I was 18. However, I have never given a dime to a candidate, nor I have ever given a nickel to a specific ballot measure group. I have never volunteered my time for any political cause. Don't get me wrong. I care about the issues. I am very patriotic.

What I really care about is the kingdom. Not just any kingdom. God's Kingdom. That's a Kingdom that really matters.

Am I concerned by what is happening in this great country? Absolutely! However, I don't let myself get consumed by politics. In Philippians 4:8, the Apostle Paul gives us some sage advice. He states:

"Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise".

Think about the verse time the next time you get all worked up about politics.
