Island of Grace

If your non-Christian friends ask you about your Christian faith, what is your response going to be? Do we speak of what we know, as John 3:11 tells us? Do we speak up with strength and not be afraid of sharing the good news, as Isaiah 40:9 declares? Or, are we shy about sharing our faith with others due to what they may think?

One of the key plots in Island of Grace is a character who is afraid and ashamed to share her faith for fear of what the world may think. The struggle she faced really resonated with me. Whether it's in the workplace, with family, or socially, it can be awkward to share your faith with an unsaved world lest they might think poorly of you.

The Bible tells us how to share our faith:

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. Romans 1:16 (NIV)

We had the boldness in our God to speak to you the gospel of God amid much opposition. 1 Thessalonians 2:2 (NASB)

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord. 2 Timothy 1:8 (ESV)

Island of Grace is a solid movie about real struggles some Christian's face. It's about learning to share your Christian faith and not worrying about the world's approval. In the end, it doesn't matter what the world thinks.
