Jesus Revolution

Jesus Revolution is based on the real life "Jesus Movement" that started in California in the late 60's. This revival was featured on the Time magazine cover story in June 1971.

The movie tells the true story of how the paths of Greg Laurie, Chuck Smith and Lonnie Frisbee converged during the late 1960's in Costa Mesa. The Jesus Movement was a pivotal moment in the 20th century. It influenced culture, music, the Church, and evangelism. This revival spread across the country. It started the Cavalry Chapel Church.

The movie is gritty at times but has humorous and poignant moments as well. Kelsey Grammar is outstanding as Chuck Smith. Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle do an excellent job of directing. If you have not seen their faith-based movies before, I highly recommend them.

Jesus Revolution offers a timely reminder that God is the only true hope we have, especially during these turbulent times of social unrest. We should do our best to spread the Good News to those we encounter daily. God wants us to share Christ with those around us.
