Old Fashioned

Old Fashioned is a romance movie that runs counteractive to today's "hookup culture" we see. The film is about two people with bad past relationships trying to move on. We see the couple getting to know each personally first, before even knowing each other physically. It's an example of what God may have intended for a relationship to look like.

I enjoyed the role of great-aunt in this movie. She urges her nephew to get past his self-righteousness issues. She helps him learn that sometimes we go to extremes to beat ourselves up over our past sinful life. However, we just need to allow God's grace to work in our life to forgive ourselves and move on.

Old Fashioned has a great message about how to respect each other and nurture true love, despite what today's culture is. I thought this movie was a great example of Romans 12:2 - "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect".
