On a Wing and a Prayer
With Dennis Quaid and Heather Graham in lead roles, On a Wing and a Prayer definitely has star power. It is directed by Sean McNamara, who was director of the faith based 2011 movie Soul Surfer.
On a Wing and a Prayer is the true story of what happened to Doug White and his family on Easter Sunday in 2009. The faith aspect of the movie is not as evident as most Christian movies. However, it's there.
"Faith in the life of a Christian is only increased, made stronger, when we go through trials and are delivered on the other side," said the real Doug White. He also stated "When you are facing challenges and seeking God's help and then watch his deliverance, your faith is increased. Without tests and trials, there would be no need for faith."
There are many verses in the Bible about God calming the storm. As I watched what Doug and his family were going through, I thought of Psalm 107:29, which says "He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed".
