Southern Gospel
Southern Gospel is based on the true story of Samuel Allen. Raised alone by a preacher father, he always had dreams to be a preacher. The movie chronicles the detours and struggles Samuel experienced along the way until he ultimately found his calling.
Southern Gospel is the story of a prodigal. Despite losing his mom early in life (she died during childbirth), his dad raised him well. He knew God's word well. However, life and temptations led him astray. Drinking, drugs, and his band were distractions until a pivotal moment in the movie. That moment changed his direction and his passion.
God gives us dreams and has a purpose for our lives. Proverbs 16:3 tells us to commit our works unto the Lord, and our plans will succeed. God loves us and wants the best for us.
