The Grace Card

Ephesians 2:8 tells us that that by grace we have been saved through faith. Romans 3:24 tells us that we are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. We are never to underestimate the power of grace in our lives. Likewise, we are called to dispense grace to other as God has extended grace to us.

The Grace Card is a powerful movie. Yes, it's about grace and forgiveness. But it also covers subjects such as prejudice, loss, and grief. We see an excellent example of the pain of unresolved grief. We see how un-forgiveness impacts a person as well as all those who come in contact with him.

The Grace Card had a gripping story with excellent performances by the characters. The film making was very well done. When watching the special features, I was surprised to see that Memphis Calvary Church of the Nazarene had produced the film. I had no idea this film was produced by a church while watching it. For a first time film, I cannot speak highly enough of the top notch quality of all aspects of this film.

This movie was inspired by and modeled after Sherwood Pictures, and the work they have done on faith based movies, such as Fireproof. I find it exciting that yet another church has heard the call of God and started a movie making ministry. I believe Christians are hungry for movies that inspire us and convey a message based on the word of God. There definitely is a demand for this type of wholesome, faith-based entertainment that has a spiritual purpose.
